Vinyl film is incredibly
tough.
When
people think about
enclosing a screen room,
their first thought is
usually of glass windows
to create that perfect
glass room. Glass
windows are a terrific
product, and we sell
glass windows, but the
building code has
stringent requirements
for installing glass
windows in a screen
room. For that reason,
vinyl or acrylic windows
are usually a better
option. You may also

considerations when you
are enclosing a screen
room to learn more.
First thing, don't be
confused by what vinyl
windows are. The frame
of vinyl windows is made
of aluminum. Instead of
glass, vinyl windows use
a tough and durable
vinyl film. Vinyl
FRAME windows use a
vinyl frame instead of
an aluminum frame to
support glass. Vinyl
windows and Vinyl Frame
windows are completely
different.
Vinyl windows are our
most popular option for
enclosing a screen room
for year round use. And
it's not hard to
understand why. Besides
being the least
expensive option
available, vinyl windows
are attractive, durable,
and strong. Vinyl
windows have been used
not only in Florida, but
in all parts of the
country for over 30
years.
Vinyl windows are
available in 2 main
types - horizontal
(side) sliding windows
and vertical windows.
Horizontal sliding
windows are usually a
few dollars less per
window and have 2
sliding sections which
allow up to a 50%
opening when opened.
Vertical windows usually
have 4 opening sections
and allow up to a 75%
opening when opened.
Both are easy to
install, operate, and
remove vents as
necessary. You can't go
wrong with either type.
Our vinyl windows
feature:
-
Custom built to
your size
requirements.
There is no such
thing as a
standard size,
though, so don't
worry about
paying extra for
"customization".
-
Your choice of 4
different vinyl
colors from
clear to heavily
tinted. All
colors are the
same price. You
can see samples
in our showroom.
-
Horizontal
sliding or
vertical sliding
windows.
-
White or bronze
colored aluminum
frames to match
your existing
screen room.
Both are the
same price.
-
10 year
manufacturer's
warranty.
-
Available in
inside mount
which is the
most common and
uses your
existing
screening, or
outside mount in
which case you
remove your
existing
screening.
Either costs the
same. With
outside mount
windows,
separate
removable
screens are
available as an
option.
-
Fixed panels are
available to
cover openings
like those found
in screen doors.
-
Trapezoidal
shaped fixed
panels are
available for
non-rectangular
shaped openings.
-
All are shipped as
complete units ready
to install.
-
Windows are designed
to fit inside
standard 2" screen
room materials.
-
The frames of
the windows are
mounted
permanently in
the opening,
however the
window vents
must be removed
when wind speeds
exceed 75 M.P.H.
Simply opening
the windows to
let air through
is not
sufficient and
may result in
damage to the
windows.
