What
our manufacturer calls a
"Lattice Structure" is
generally better known
as a pergola - that is a
roof structure made up
of slats and supported
by columns to provide
shade. Traditionally
pergola structures have
been made of wood and
required constant
maintenance, especially
here in Florida. Our
Lattice Structures are
made of heavy gauge
aluminum and will look
beautiful for years and
years to come with
virtually no
maintenance. No
painting. No scraping
and sanding. No rot. The
Lattice Structures we
sell are a relatively
new product and should
not be confused with
older cheaply made
products. Our structures
were designed with
Florida in mind, so in
addition to standing up
to the sun and rain for
years, meeting the
latest building codes
for wind loading is not
a problem either. (Many
other products on the
market do not meet
Florida wind codes,
making it impossible to
get a building permit,
and, by extension,
impossible to insure.)
Because these materials
are a premium product,
they are generally
available only to
professional
contractors. But we are
now able make them
available to the
do-it-yourselfer. Yes,
these packages cost more
per square foot than
most other material
packages we sell. But,
you will find our prices
are substantially less
than what you would pay
a contractor for the
same thing. Building it
yourself still saves you
a lot.
Don't think these
structures are
overpriced, though. If
you compare our Lattice
Structure to other
products on the market
you will find our prices
are usually lower. And
when you factor in our
structures use
maintenance free
aluminum, not steel
which will rust, or wood
which requires constant
maintenance, you will
realize the true value
